Purpose of Living in This World

After Khutbathul Hajah

To Proceed:

Allah gave us all this life with a limited freedom to think, act, showing us to choose between good and bad.

وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ

And shown him the two ways (good and evil)?

(Surah Balad:10)

Man lives in madness of this life alone without concern for hereafter(akhirah). Man is concerned about wealth, authority, fame, honour and thus striving to things that lead to hell-fire. All the efforts is for dunya with pride and arrogance. This will only make you fall into traps of shaytaan who changes your thinking, intentions, interpretations, beliefs and manners. Man then becomes a close companion to shaytaan who is in reality the enemy of mankind.

We are either with shaytaan in hell-fire or a life in Jannah with the prophets and righteous matrys. Allah has shown us both the paths and guided to the straight path. It is upon us to strive.

Dear Brothers! This life is journey from birth, childhood under our parents, then our young age with strength about which Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) will ask on the freedom, knowledge, health given to us. He will write all the good and bad we did.

I inform you all, whoever spends his life for this (worldly) life only, striving for money and comforts, you are leading yourself to hell-fire. Whoever it may be, when he strives for this dunya, for gaining respect in society, for politics, in the name of religion or for any such reasons, he will get the results for it in this world itself and a sure punishment in the hereafter.

Allah gives us life for once only. So if we strive in this life, in this world for the eternal life in the hereafter, then we are the most intelligent of all. The journey to the life of the hereafter starts from the grave where our status, ranks, money, authority, family, none of it can provide support. Only the life which we lived in this world, our actions, our righteous talks, our halal earnings will speak for us. Therefore, I advise all of mankind to take good care of this life and spend it in the correct way to attain the rewards in the hereafter.

Whether you may be a muslim or non-muslim, all of you have a life here, will end up in a grave, have a life in the hereafter. We must choose to live a life which leads to success in the hereafter. We can live to the obedience of our creator, Allah in this life only till we enter our graves. If we do not take heed, our eternal life in the hereafter will become miserable for us.

If we are negligent about the shariah of Allah, heedless about His guidance, not being dutiful to Him, whether muslims or non-muslims, each and everyone will be questioned by Allah about the life given to him. How obedient he was to Allah, how he spent his wealth, how he was with his family?!

Today, muslims are in a state of ignorance about their religion, Al-Islam. They are negligent about their duties, their shortcomings, ignorant about the path of their prophet.

They do not strive to know the path of his leader, prophet (سبحانه و تعالى). Muslims know the status of our prophet, the virtue of our prophet, the guidance of our prophet, yet they show negligence, why? LOVE FOR THIS DUNYA, A NEED, AN URGE FOR THIS WORLDLY THINGS, DESIRES.

Despite of all the guidance shown to him, rewards, blessings, success, happiness, he himself restrains from the path of Islam, path of Sunnah. Who can be a loser than him in this world?

Man gets the best education.

He gets the best of wealth.

He gets the best of life with comforts.

What will it result in the hereafter? It will only take him to the hell-fire.

Striving hard for all this, the whole life, at the end, hell-fire becomes his abode.

If a person who does know the Quran, does know Islam, does not have guidance, we must guide him, teach him, invite him to the best way. But the one who is taking the wrong path despite knowing the Quran and sunnah, how can he leave this blessed path, how can be negligent?!

Why can’t you muslims discipline yourself?!

why can’t you realise the merits of your religion Islam?!

Why don’t you progress in this blessed path?!

Where is your taqwa?! Where is respect for our prophet? !

My dear brothers!

Why do you throw yourself to hell-fire?!

Why do not realise the hell-fire?!

Why do you degrade our religion of Islam?!

In which aspects you follow your religion?! Beliefs, dress, manners?!

Your politics is for what?! It will not help you or others.

Your slogans will not help muslims to protect their rights. You must first protect your rights and fulfil your duties to Allah.

Politics will lead you to hell-fire. I (Yahya Silmy) warn you against this danger of shirk. Politics will lead you to hell-fire.

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ

You [true believers in Islâmic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and his Sunnah] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma‘rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islâm has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fâsiqûn (disobedient to Allâh - and rebellious against Allâh’s Command).

(Surah Alaa-Imraan:110)

In this land, whoever comes to power, there is always going to be one problem or the other. What is your goal with your politics?! Will it bring any good?! Upliftment in society?!

These elections only will only lead to corruptions. I repeatedly say this.

This politics will lead to falsehood. There is no benefit to anybody, muslims or non-muslims from this politics.

Our scholars guided us by saying,

“Best politics is to stay away from politics”.

Stay away from these corruptions. Staying away will save you, will bring you success, will bring you good.

People say only one vote, but if we involve, we bear to the sin, destructions it brings.

Protect yourselves and your families from the hell-fire as Allah says,

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًۭا

O you who believe! Ward off yourselves and your families against a Fire (Hell)….

(Surah tahrim:6)

Hold onto your religion, hold onto your guidance, it will bring success in this world and in the hereafter.

People question us on politics. This talk of mine is a gift to all the people especially moulavis. Return from your nifaq, hypocrisy. You are upon the path of the munafiqeen, either knowingly or ignorantly. This is the truth. Truth is bitter to most people.

I remind you with the hadees,

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Mu’adh, do you know what the right of Allah is upon His servants?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “To worship Him alone and to associate none in worship with Him. And do you know what their right is upon Him?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Not to punish them if they do so.”

Sahih al-Bukhari 7373, Sahih Muslim 30

Masjid is for allah, it is the house of Allah. It is to protect the rights of Allah. It is to call to be dutiful to Allah. But here, it has become a place calling to shirk, calling to negligence, calling to oppose to Allah’s laws, calling to other paths.

In sri lanka, shirk in the masjids, kufr in masjids, degrading of islam are to the great extent that even the jews, Christians, majoosees did not involve in such crimes. These moulavis are defending this path of misguidance giving fatwas, advises, bringing destruction to Islam and muslims. They change the religion of Islam. It is upon us to purify ourselves from this falsehood and first & foremost preserve the rights of Allah, His Tauheed. Only then we can bring progress to our country, our people, educate muslims, invite others to goodness, to Islam.

We are stuck with this falsehood, divisions, troubles, how can be preach the teachings of Quran and establish sunnah?! How can we clarify people about the true rabb of the world?! This is the problem today. Muslims have to return to Allah, to their religion first.

If he doesn’t do it, then how can he expect all others to accept Islam?!

Sahabah believed, followed, acted upon deen. We must follow them as our leaders.

We must leave all divisions, hizbiyyah and stick to the rope of Allah.

Allah () says,

وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًۭا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟

And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur’ân), and be not divided among yourselves….

(Surah Ala’Imran:103)

We must strive to live in the path of sahabah, Stick to their foundations and advises.

Otherwise, muslims will destroy themselves. They will lead themselves to destruction.

Kuffaar cannot bring damage to muslims, it is the muslims who will damage themselves. Kuffaar cannot degrade Islam, but only the muslims being undutiful, neglectful, bring disrespect to Islam, falling into the traps of kuffaar and shaytaan.

This will be the worst punishment for us from Allah. we destroying ourselves.

How electing a kaafir becomes a religion for you?!

Ask yourselves about your preservation of sunnah, Islam, emaan!

May Allah protect us all.
